Age Minimum: 12+ (All riders between the ages of 12-17 must submit a notarized waiver and must be accompanied at all times, on and off the route, by a participating parent or guardian.)

Cottonwood is a small, quiet community named for the cottonwood trees that grow along the Verde River.  Located in the center of the Verde Valley, it is surrounded on the east, west and south by mountains, and mesas and buttes to the north.  It is conveniently located 130 miles from Phoenix and 40 miles from Flagstaff.  Cottonwood began as a farming town and is now the Verde Valley population center.  At an elevation of 3,314 feet, this town enjoys a mild climate year round.
