    PINE-STRAWBERRY

    ________________

Pine and the adjacent community of Strawberry are rapidly growing vacation and retirement centers in north-central Arizona, below the Mogollon Rim.

Pine’s elevation is 5,448 feet, and the Pine post office was established in 1884.

Pine was established by four Mormon families in 1879.

Pine, about 110 miles northeast of Phoenix, is named for the surrounding Pine Timber country.

Nearby recreational areas are Bear Canyon and Knoll Lakes, and the Blue Ridge Reservoir.

Strawberry, which is located on Highway 87/260 West, at the base of the Mogollon Rim, got its name from the wild strawberries growing in the area when it was founded.

Pine Strawberry Business Community is a local organization made up of members from the towns of Pine and Strawberry.

This non-profit organization sponsors fundraising events and activities in Pine and Strawberry throughout the year. All year long, there are community festivities that bring everyone together building a sense of togetherness. The community involvement develops a sense of support, connection and neighborhood.
